You may be exhausted today, worn down in some way, fearful, insecure and feeling vulnerable. There may be major doubts trying to manipulate and overtake your mind. The enemy may be trying to intimidate you into stopping, giving up, letting go, backing down or simply staying still. But His Word has not changed, His plan has not changed for you.
Now is the very time God is calling you to rise up, push on, believe again against hope, and hold onto His Word. In battle, a place that holds something of importance is usually guarded very heavily and puts up the most resistance. The most important fort is guarded the heaviest. The battle often gets hardest when you are about to conquer and achieve a breakthrough.
If you’re there right now, don’t give up.
Don’t lose your fight.
God has brought you this far and He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (1Th 5:24 NKJ)
This is all for Him, your life is for Him, taking up your cross is for Him, this is all for His glory. Think of Gideon, on God’s Word, he fought and won a miraculous victory with 300 people! Outrageously he was told to make a lot of noise and smash some jugs, and the Midianite army basically defeated itself. Only God could work out and execute such a plan!
We get one go at this life, don’t give up on Him, He has never given up on you, nor ever will. Jesus gave up His life for you so that you might walk in the newness of His life. Take courage today.
But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded! (2Ch 15:7)
Don’t give up when you feel that deep soul weariness from long battles with persistent weaknesses: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Don’t give up when your long-asked-for prayers have not yet been answered; Always pray and not lose heart. (Luke 18:1)
Don’t give up when the devil’s fiery darts are launched at you; Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day (Ephesians 6:13)
Don’t give up when the multiple pressures seem unending; Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psa 55:22 NKJ)
Don’t give up when the place the Lord has assigned you is hard, and the harvest does not look promising; Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Gal 6:9 NKJ)
Don’t give up when waiting on God just seems endless: those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:30–31)
Don’t give up, but hold onto Him, hold onto His truth, His word, to what God says, not what your mind is saying negatively, not what the situation is looking like, not even what others may be saying – hold on to what God is saying in His Word!
Heavenly Father, I thank You that Your Word is truth and Your Word is powerful. You do what You say. Help me today to hold onto You and to realise also that You are holding onto me, and You will never let me go. God, I submit myself to You, have Your way, and touch me afresh with Your grace and strength. Amen.
